This article explores the limitations concerning an hegemonic conception of violence, gender andsexuality in the Chilean approach on domestic violence against women. It is interested in going oversome knots of the institutional practice, exploring their relation to the notion of victim in the womenoral testimony. From our perspective these knots have contributed to stress the reflections coming fromfeminism, which has demanded for three decades deconstructing the intelligibility of the phenomenon.
