In this research banana (Musa acuminata) stem waste and bovine rumen were taken to undergo degradation by anaerobic codigestion. The stem and rumen were mixed to obtain four ratios of substrate and three replicates were taken for each. 750 mL bioreactors were used, with a 3 temperature factorial arrangement (25, 35 and 45°C). Initial conditions and final physicochemical parameters were analysed. The total Chemical Oxygen Demandremoval (CODr) was 13.5 and 41.8% and Volatile Solids (VS) removal only between 12.8–50.9%. The methane content in each of the bioreactors was measured by gas chromatography for 40 days. The temperature that gave the highest methane production was 45°C, followed by 35°C and 25°C, with values of 1250.1, 1018.2 and 885.7 mL, respectively.
