Abstract The composition of the leaf oil of Espeletia batata Cuatrec. was analyzed by capillary GC and GC/MS. Forty-two compounds were identified corresponding to 95.6% of the oil. The major components were α-pinene (35.4%), α-thujene (12.5%), β-pinene (12.1%), limonene (8.5%), and myrcene (4.7%).
