Three clinical cases of Protothecosis seen and studied in our Institute are presented. One of them correspond to the skin and soft tissue type and the other two correspond to bursitis of the olecranon. None had any demostrable underlying disease. The biological, clinical and laboratory aspects of this rare disease caused by algae are discussed.
