In this document it will be presented the study of different code families used in optical code division multiple access (OCDMA), with the aim of selecting family codes, which present better characteristics of performance according to the criteria of their autocorrelation and cross-correlation properties. Done the study of different families we will show the gold codes as codes that exhibit better properties than other families used in other optical systems. Finally we will construct gold codes with longitude 7,63 and 127 chips and use criteria based on the properties of correlation that allow to evaluate and select subsets of gold codes, which present better characteristics for the implementation of OCDMA.
