Abstract A novel method based on NMR for the characterization of oligomers formed by the reaction of terephthaloyl chloride with excess p-aminobenzhydrazide is presented. These studies have provided significant insight to the "ordering process" or "self-regulation" involved in corresponding polymerization reactions.
