This paper presents the results obtained in the development of a low-cost and well performance electrocardiograph called ECG_UTS_02, which was built, based on the ADS1198 device; which has a 16-bitsimultaneous sampling digital analog converter and eight input channels, for the precordial leads V1 to V6 and bipolar D1 and D2. The device incorporates all the features that commonly requires in applications of the electrocardiogram (ECG). The system counts with a smaller hardware and low power consumption. The ECG_UTS_02 is controlled by a DSPIC, which is responsible for receiving information from the ADS, digitally filtering it, and present the results using a touch screen interface, which shows the ECG signals, heart rate and indicates the electrodes that are wrong installed on the chest. In addition, the electrocardiograph has USB communication that allows it to be used in telemedicine applications.
