Abstract Abstract The composition of the essential oil from Thymus vulgaris L. cultivated in western Cuba was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Ninety-eight compounds were identified, phenols and mono-terpenes were the most abundant (about 91%). The species belongs to the Thymol chemotype.
