Language capacity, acquiring and learning of other symbolic systems and the development of more elaborate thinking behaviors seem to be improving due to technology that constitutes a platform which allows research and problem resolution for disabled people with communication problems. This paper outlines the results of a interdisciplinary project experience between the Electric Engineering and Industrial Design department of the Los Andes University, and the Pedagogy department of the Pedagogic National University, which focuses on generating functional tool prototypes for people with disabilities.
