Religious experience and religious language, the two constituents of religious fact or phenomenon, are studied in this article from an anthropological and a theological point of view. As well as human experience is a means of relationship and apprehension of reality, religious experience is a means of relationship and apprehension of transcendence. Likewise, as well as human experience is mediated for its interpretation and expression by human language, religious experience is mediated for its interpretation and expression by religious language. This study pretends to be a contribution to a theological hermeneutics in sacramental key or, more precisely, a general or fundamental sacramentology, but also, and at the same time, contribution to an anthropological and theological hermeneutics of the religious fact in its two components: the religious experience and the language which interprets and expresses this experience.
