Resumen El autor formula una serie de enunciados que evocan el caracter estructural y sorprendente del Edipo y la funcion del Padre en la constitucion subjetiva, evocan tambien su poder de interpretacion de fenomenos como el estrago Materno, el sintoma parental, los hijos de la ciencia, la psicopatologia religiosa contemporanea y los avatares de la eleccion de la identidad sexual en el mundo de hoy. Pretende el articulo, apoyado en la estructura, ir mas alla, creando la necesidad de reflexion e indagacion de fenomenos y hechos convertidos en acontecimientos que dependen de la intima influencia del concepto de la orientacion lacaniana de “Mas alla del Edipo y del Padre” como ideas-fuerza que elucidan dentro del discurso del Otro de la Modernidad, la forma, esencia e insistencia del malestar del hombre contemporaneo.
