Summary This article characterizes the market structure of young cattle auctions in the Montería and Sincelejo cities (Colombia) by four concentration index of purchase: CR4, CR8, and the Herfindhal and Rosembluth index. The results pointed out that the market structure of the cattle auctions is a perfect competence or workable competition, as name in economic theory and industrial organization handbook respectively.
