The soybean lecithin extenders have been used for cryopreservation of buck semen; however, there is no information about its effect on sperm morphometry and vitality. The aim of this study was to compare the effect two commercial soybean lecithin-based extenders on post-thaw buck sperm head morphometric parameters. According to these results, the sperm head dimensions (SHD) of semen samples frozen and thawed using Ovixcell were smaller. A reduction in SHD has been previously described due to cryopreservation procedures. Then, a lower reduction of SHD after thawing could be related with better cryopreservation success. In conclusion, the SHD of goat semen frozen-thawed with AndroMed were significantly higher in comparison to Ovixcell, which could be related to better resistance to cryopreservation.
