Abstract:

This research presents the analysis of how relationships of power and control governing the teaching practice in the context of the classroom in the field of higher education, with reference to the case of teachers professional cycle Surgical Instrumentation program south western Colombia , aiming to explore the handling of the power of teaching by speech and voice code. To perform this analysis were taken as reference sociological theory of pedagogy, especially the theory of cultural transmission supported by sociologist Basil Berntein and theme to the thought of Michel Foucault was made, basing the analysis model proposed by Ortega (2005 ), which takes into account the categories inferred in the management of speech, discipline and power. The study design is qualitative using instruments such as direct observation and semi-structured interview, which allowed find in the teaching practice of these teachers an ambiguous model boundaries between the rigid and flexible on the principles of communication and interaction with the students.
