Antes de que especializaciones como la psicologia, la dietetica, la medicina… vinieran a tomar a su cargo el cuidado del hombre, ya la filosofia habia incluido en sus temas los imperativos a partir de los cuales los individuos deben establecer una relacion consigo mismos. La filosofia es la que desde siempre, a partir del imperativo socratico “ocupate de ti mismo” ha insistido en un interes que liga el amor propio al conocimiento de si mismo. De este modo las relaciones entre etica y filosofia son estrechas y fundamentales.
