In this work, we introduce the notion of --coherent pair of weakly quasi-definite linear functionals as the -analogue to the generalized coherent pair studied by Delgado and Marcellán (Meth. Appl. Anal. 11 (2004), pp. 237–266). This means that their corresponding families of monic orthogonal polynomials and satisfyWe prove that --coherence is a sufficient condition for the weakly quasi-definite linear functionals to be -semiclassical, one of them of class at most 1 and the another of class at most 5, and they are related by a expression of rational type. In addition, a matrix interpretation of --coherence in terms of the corresponding monic Jacobi matrices is given. The particular case when is -classical linear functional is studied.
