In this document is presented the experience lived in the establishment and work carried out in the first year in the youth research group in design and reconversion of machines (DIREMA) of the Technological University of Pereira (UTP). This youth research group arose because of the absence of an academic space that allowed the students to approach from the first semesters of its career investigation topics in mechanical design of real application to the environmental. The main objective of DIREMA is to facilitate in the students of mechanical engineering and similar careers a formation space in investigation and from this, by means of the realization of projects, to wonder and to outline solutions to the problems of the local, regional and national industry.
