This article presents the results of aresearch developed with a group of students of the Faculty of Technology the District University of Bogota. It leads about the role of the television in the construction psycho-socio-cul-tural reality. The text tries about some topics related to the uses, the imaginaries and the role of the television in the social and individual life. The importance of the research is to show the role of the school in order to promote dialog spaces about the curriculum contents and also to promote the use of the televisions as a didactic and a methodological strategy to develop the different communicative competencies, particularly, the semiotic one.
