The classification schemes are evaluated by a cascade way to quantify its performance and compare with the results obtained using learning machines in multi-classification mode. The cascading scheme can identifyUnclassifiable � heartbeats, and decrease the number of classification errors, with a 2,7%. The learning machines used were perceptron multilayer and support vector machines. The features extraction scheme used, was the one that a greater efficiency achieved in the multi-classification case.
