The proposal of an aesthetic of alterity hopes to make problematic the concept of representation and its history. The concepts of mimesis, training and figuration will be removed here from the usual place they occupy in aesthetic theory and artistic practice, in the search of an ethno-graphy and aesthetics of alterity that allow an in depth approximation to the vital relationship with the otherness of earth. This relationship is approached from the margins allowed by the concepts of post-structural anthropology proposed by Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, multinaturalism and perspectivism, which are referred to shamanic experiences and the Amerindian worldview, as traces and traits of different modes of being, of “processes of differential alteration”, which will receive their exposition and meaning in certain artistic endeavors.
