An observatory has been established to observe the academic life of the undergraduate students of the College of Engineering, University of Antioquia. Academic life is understood as the set of experiences developed when the students exert their curricular and university duties and rights. Similarly, it refers to other familiar, social, politic, and economic incident factors. In this paper observations are presented for the students that started during the 2005 second semester and 2006 first semester. These partial results permit to detect causes and point out correctives to the observed deficiencies. It means that, since now, they are valuable information to remedy the faults perceived in the academic life.
