Las escuelas normales femeninas de Colombia surguieron a partir de 1872, con el fin de formar maestras idoneas para los niveles de primaria y para los planteles de su mismo genero. La creacion de estas instituciones fue la respuesta al movimiento mundial en favor de la educacion de la mujer de la epoca. De ahi que los gobiernos radicales del pais quisieron estar a tono con los cambios realizados en Europa, Norteamerica y algunos paises de Latinoamerica en aspectos relacionados con la educacion de la mujer y la asimilacion de nuevos conceptos culturales sobre el particular. Ademas, la educacion posibilito un trabajo digno para la mujer colombiana en ocupaciones distintas al hogar, porque asi ingreso al campo laboral del magisterio. THE EMERGENCE OF THE FEMININE NORMAL SCHOOLS IN COLOMBIA SUMMARY The feminine normal schools of Colombia starting from 1872, with the purpose of forming suitable teachers for the levels of primary and for the facilities of their same gender. The creation of these institutions, the answer went to the world movement in favor of the education of the woman of the time. With the result that the radical governments of the country, wanted to be to tone with the changes carried out in Europe, North America and some countries of Latin America in aspects related with the woman ’ s education and the assimilation of new cultural concepts on the matter. Also, the education facilitated a worthy work for the Colombian woman in occupations different to the home because it entered this way to the teaching ’ s labor field.
