.Subdural electrodes in a variety of configurations have been utilized by a number of epilepsy centers in this and other countries. They have the advantage of allowing the sampling of cortical activity over a large area of the brain when needed. Functional localization can be performed by means of cortical stimulation. We discuss the advantages and drawbacks of this technique.
