This article is part of a research project designed to compile information on the state of the art in educational research on physical education, recreation and sports in Antioquia between 1998 and 2009. Specifically, it analyzes the production of knowledge on teaching and didactics applied to the aforementioned fields and, in that respect, it attempts to identify what concerns the pedagogic concepts and models, and the didactic approaches found in the educational research reviewed for the study. The findings point to the coexistence of a wealth of theoretical and methodological approaches bereft of pedagogic debate. This, in turn, reflects a scientific gap in the academic community.
