Background: Though HIV epidemics is not decreasing in most Latin American countries, there is little information about the baseline demographics, clinical status at diagnosis and outcomes in these patients. We present here the description of baseline characteristics of patients recruited in Latina. Methods & Materials: This Cohort started collecting data in September 2013 Currently there are 13 sites distributed in: Argentina (9), Mexico (2) and Perú (1) and Colombia (1). We present basal information as of October 2017. Inclusion criteria are: HIV diagnosis within previous year and at least 2 prior visits to the site. Data is collected in an online "ad hoc" designed web platform twice a year Numeric variables are summarized by means (95% CI) or medians (IQR) according to their statistical distribution. Categorical variables that allow inferential estimates are summarized by percentages and 95% CI. Results: 1866 patients have been included. Patient distribution per country is: México N = 1013, 54% patients, Argentina N = 570, 31%; Colombia N = 136, 7% and Peru N = 147 8%. Variables analyzed had between 5 and 25% completion rate. Median age is 32.2 (IQR 26.49-41.6), 86.2% (73.4-100%) were male. Median time of formal education was11 years of formal study (IQ range: 9-12). Health coverage is public in 78% (77.68-78.32) Sexual transmission occurred in 88% (86-90) of cases, most frequently homosexual/bisexual intercourse 62% (58-65). 36% (33.8 -38.2) of patients were diagnosed because of symptoms associated with HIV. There were 20% (18.1-21.08) of patients who had had a progression of disease (POD) condition. Serious non AIDS diseases were present in 2% (0.7-3.3) of patients. CD4 and CV count median values were 399 (IQR 205-578) and 78.782 (IQR 11200-788759) respectively. ARV treatment had been initiated in only 6% (4-8) of cases. Conclusion: Demographic and transmission characteristics are similar to those reported in national surveillance systems: patients are mostly MSM, young and late presenters. The low rate of patients under ARV may be due to the fact that about one half of the patients (906) had been recruited previous to 2015 when WHO guidelines changed to recommend ARV treatment as early as possible. We aim at reporting periodical prospective data to improve information about patient prigression and care
