Arturo Suárez Dennis was the most read and the most reedited writer in Colombia, during the first half of 20th century. Nevertheless, this fact wasn't enough for the literary authorities to consider Suárez as a good writer. Despite of the fact that Suárez became an outstanding case in the history of the Colombian literature, he hasn't been object of researches. The study of Suárez' work is essential in order to understand processes such as the history of the reading, of the publishing and of the distribution of the printed material in Colombia, and the history of writer's professionalization.
